Tate Modern

It was a time of great snow around the world. Considering where I live it is not a big deal for us as we are covered in snow for the most part of the winter. I live in Lorraine, the North-Eastern part of France. I teach arts at the University of Arts. I have been teaching there for the last two years. I moved to France in 2020. When we were in the early phase of Covid 19. I am originally from Germany, I came here as an internee lecturer at the university but due to the COVID and some other reasons, I decided to stay at the university. I am planning on staying for at least another 2-3 years, and then I will decide if I want to stay or go back to my hometown in Germany, Stuttgart. I also love paintings and other forms of contemporary arts as well. I also enjoy, occasionally, theatre and exhibitions of paintings as well. Painting, in particular, is a hobby of mine; I like to paint natural things. I have been painting for as long as I can remember. My mother was a sculptor, so I guess I picked this up from my mother.

There was an art exhibition on the 17th of January of this year. At this expo, there were paintings exhibitions as well. I decided, along with my faculty, we should go see the exhibition. I made all the necessary arrangements for the trip. I packed my bag and suitcases two days prior to the exhibition.

There was another important thing I was going to need at the airport was a cab. I searched online and found an airport cab service. company was among the leading cab service providers in the UK. Their user reviews were very appreciative and encouraging which made me pick company.

The day came, the 16th of January, it was just afternoon; I was travelling from Lorraine Airport after a long and tiring flight, and I finally arrived at Luton Airport. After checking out from the airport, I came looking for a cab driver. The driver was already waiting for me at the terminal, holding my nametag in his hand. I went up to him and introduced myself. The driver welcomed me and took my luggage from me. He placed the bags in the trunk of the cab and then we went on with our journey. It is around 35 miles from the airport to the museum. After driving around the heavy traffic we finally reached the museum. The driver handed me over my luggage and left.

The painting exhibition I was interested in was by an African painter named Abdullah. The exhibition was mainly based on the sufferings and hardships people faced during the pandemic. It was meticulously crafted and beautifully presented at the expo.

Tate has the honour of having one of the largest museums of modern and contemporary art in the world. Entry to the gallery is free. But you may need to book a ticket for the exhibitions, some tickets are available at the door as well.

I met my fellow countrymen and some aesthetics at the expo. The whole day was filled with joy and excitement. I enjoyed the expo immensely. It was one of the few memories that I would cherish and enjoy in the years to come.
